Tibial Tuberosity Advancement (TTA)
The most common knee injury in the dog is rupture of the Cranial Cruciate Ligament (CCL), also frequently referred to as the Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL). This injury can occur at any age and in any breed, but most frequently occurs in middle aged, overweight, medium to large breed dogs. An injured Cruciate Ligament can only be corrected by surgery. Montgomery Veterinary Associates performs the TTA, which is the newest procedure, and what we believe is the best for most of our patients. TTA stabilizes the knee joint by changing the geometry and physics of the knee and enabling it to work without a cruciate ligament. Giving these patients immediate results after surgery; where they can be up and moving around as they did prior to the injury after a healing period. Dr. Cade Armstrong has been certified for the TTA Procedure and has been performing them for the over last three years at Montgomery Veterinary Associates.
